The Story to Date:

My name's Musical Money Magnet. Feel free to call me Magnet. I was initially developing this venture to provide influential music to educational and select commercial projects (I'm a composer), but quickly diversified into meaningful clothing production. I launched my clothing brand on the 10th of May, 2010, with an anti-smoking clothing line.

The Clothing

Gloss Print: A vivid, shiny, print that feels like glossy vinyl: I use this on nearly all of my garments. If I haven't specified the print medium, it's gloss.

Soft-feel Print: The finish of this print medium feels a bit like suede (but isn't). Mmmm, luxurious!

Paint & Ink: Traditional medium (similar to screen-print-style garments). I currently use this on some of the May 31st variations (the ones with speech bubbles).

 

My Motivation:

I am a vehement advocate for the eradication of tobacco from this planet, so on the 10th of May, 2010, I announced the global launch of a clothing label for people wishing to express an anti-smoking / pro-breathing stance.

If no government in the world, except that of Bhutan, is brave enough to ban the sale of tobacco, then we have to do it the hard way: by pitting a neurally transformative, irresistibly addictive, readily available, life-altering drug against the human capacity for rational behaviour – a steep uphill battle.

I intend to do my best to support the eventual eradication of smoking from this planet, by actively encouraging and promoting an unyielding – and publicly visible – anti-tobacco attitude. Hence, my motivation for establishing this line of clothing.

My Name:

Regarding "Magnet": I established this venture with the initial intention of attracting money towards educational, or otherwise admirable, commercial projects.

Regarding "Musical": As you know, music has an extremely powerful influence on human emotion and is employed in audiovisual media to tell the audience what emotion is expected of them at any given time. If the overall experence is effective (i.e. affective!), all sorts of objectives can be achieved, including imparting vital information or motivating action. This can be used for good, or for reckless selfishness. I like good.

Regarding "Money": I don't mind hearing non-capitalist ideologies if they're impressive (the Venus Project is especially intriguing), but I currently believe that a responsible capitalist approach is the most effective means to improving the world.

Musical Money Magnet: So, in summary, I adopted the name "Musical Money Magnet" because I initially intended (and still do,..soon) to use music's influence to attract money toward good products and projects. In addition to that, the name sounds catchy and confident, and I have grown to like it. If you don't like the name, please keep an eye on my actions instead. (The name does have a tendency to grow on you, though!)
